Artist interview assignment

The artist I chose to write about for this assignment is Laura Berger because her work is connected to contemporary art. Laura describes her work as being heavily inspired by feminism because her work is painting pictures of women. She also calls her artwork being related to harmony and peace something sensitive to the form of body. Her artwork is a commemoration to the spirit of yoga. The questions being frequently asked about Laura Berger’s artwork is about the bodies being painted in her art pieces. The questions also relate to how the artist compares yoga to art, the people want to know how yoga is a form of art in Laura’s eyes. One of the questions from the interview I would most likely relate to my artwork is “was there a genre that influences your artwork?”, my answer to that question is that emotions and how its represented in color is what influences me to create such art. In my mind each emotion has a color and a way of expressing itself that’s why I chose to draw it in such a way that it represents line structures and the way its drawn out using certain line movements and the direction of the line. I would also use texture to represent the way that feeling is expressed through lines.
